The Key School is Hiring an Associate Director of Admission, Grades 7-12 (2024-2025) Near Annapolis, MD

Position Type: 12 month, 1 FTEJob DescriptionReporting to the Director of Enrollment and Outreach, the Associate Director of Admission is responsible for the lead generation and cultivation of prospective students and families in grades 7-12. As the lead counselor and ambassador for these grades, this position requires strong personal outreach and relationship-building skills, as well as a command of Key’s curriculum and programmatic offerings.
The Associate Director of Admission is someone who is passionate about Key’s mission and is an experienced professional with strong written and oral communication skills; one who ideally holds a bachelor’s degree or higher, has experience working in Middle and/or Upper School programs, admissions or a comparable role in client-relation/sales and has proficiency with Google cloud-based applications.
The Associate Director of Admission is detail-oriented, adaptable, thrives in a team-first environment and can
seamlessly pivot between job responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
  • Timely follow-up with leads, inquiries and applicants
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with “sending schools”
  • Leveraging the CRM functionality of Finalsite Enroll to optimize outreach and engagement
  • Representing Key at school fairs and outreach events
  • Assist with the planning and execution of admission events as needed
  • Conducting tours and mentoring the Gold Key Student Ambassadors
  • Counseling families at every point in the admission process, from initial contact to enrollment
  • Scheduling student shadow days in grades 7 and 8
  • Coordinating Admission Committee meetings grades 7-12
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Middle and Upper School curricula and programs
  • Coordinating the math and language placement testing for new 7-12 grade students each spring

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience as an admission counselor, faculty member and/or administrator in independent schools
  • Proven track record of supporting a mission-driven organization while meeting the needs of, and catering to, prospective students/families/clients.

Technical CompetenciesKey is a Google Workspace for Education school. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar. They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google Meet and have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues that may arise.
Work Schedule/TravelOccasionally, there are school functions that will require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and travel outside of Annapolis.
