The Knot Worldwide is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Omaha, NE
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- US Payroll: processing a semi-monthly payroll for 900 employees using our Payroll system, Paylocity
- International Payroll: processing a monthly payroll for the 100-200 employees in the UK & Ireland, using Immedis UKG.
- Manage the time and labor function in our payroll system for non-exempt employees
- Download expense reports for payroll processing each pay cycle from our expense management system, Coupa
- Collaborate directly with the People team, following established workflows to process employee changes, including but not limited to benefit, salary, bonus and commission payouts or adjustments
- Act as the primary payroll support representative via a Payroll Help Desk ticketing system (Freshdesk), assisting employees with payroll inquiries; escalating or redirecting to the Payroll Manager, or and People Team Members as appropriate
- Remain educated on current federal, state and local tax laws while forwarding new tax rate notices to our Paylocity Tax Services
- Assist Benefits Administrators with payroll deductions for benefits, including but not limited to traditional and roth 401(k) plans, FSA’s, HSA’s, life insurance, short and long-term disability, medical, dental, vision, parental leave, and more
- Oversee the timely filing of federal, state, and local tax withholdings and SUI
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and People Operations on new hire onboarding and employee separations
- Design and maintain timely payroll and benefits management reports for use within Accounting, Finance and People
- Ensure the payroll process is in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and internal controls
- Perform audit updates to payroll processes and procedures
- Assist Payroll Manager in W-2 Form review and distribution
- Maintain state compliance, establishing operations in a new state, unemployment etc.
- Assist Payroll Manager with reconciling and preparing general ledgers and journal entries
- Process wage garnishments
- Handle department projects and audits as assigned
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent preferred
- 3 years progressive experience in a payroll and human resources environment
- Extensive experience with systems integrations
- Experience in international payroll processing preferred
- Experience with the Payroll System Paylocity preferred
- Experience with using the Payroll System Immedis UKG (international) preferred
- Experience with using Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite; Particularly Excel skills
- Google Suite; Particularly Google Sheets skills
- Expertise in liaising and working closely with the Benefits Team
- Tax filing experience (multi-state)
- The ability to adapt in a fast pace ever changing environment
- Knowledge of current federal and state tax regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to maintain the highest level of integrity with confidential information
