Senior Litigation Attorney (Senior Associate, of Counsel, Partner)

OUR CLIENT

Our client is an AmLaw 200 firm with practice areas ranked by Chambers and Best Lawyers both nationally and regionally across the country. Their emphasis on hiring is to bring on attorneys with great experience and give them a place to apply it, as well as a clear path to partnership and growth. They are currently growing their New York presence with the addition of a Senior Litigation Attorney with insurance coverage experience (title is flexible for the right fit).

THE POSITION

Candidates in this role can expect to:

• Manage a caseload of complex litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and arbitrations.
• Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients and colleagues.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff.
• Stay current with legal developments and industry trends relevant to litigation practice areas.

Required qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• License to practice law in New York.
• 4-6 years civil litigation experience (ideally across a diverse set of practice areas, with an emphasis on defense work).

COMPENSATION

This is a full-time, benefitted position. Target base salary range in good faith is $150,000-$200,000 but final offer will be dependent on relevant experience and seniority.
