As a litigation paralegal, you will be teamed-up with an attorney and jointly responsible for an assigned caseload. You will have regular contact with our clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Guiding clients through legal matters with written and telephone updates
- Drafting discovery plans
- Issuing subpoenas
- Drafting and responding to form interrogatories, special interrogatories, requests for admissions, and requests to produce documents and property
- Summarizing discovery responses
- Writing correspondence
- Drafting petitions, notices, and motions
- Organizing documents
- Maintaining client files
- Managing the litigation calendar
- Checking probate notes and preparing supplements
- Faxing, filing, and e-filing documents in probate courts located in Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, Los Angeles County, and Ventura County
- Assisting attorneys with related work tasks
Qualifications
- Completed a Certified Paralegal Program
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
- Must be able to type 40-words per minute
- Must be an excellent listener
- Computer skills including proficiency in Google Suite
