Area Sales Manager - Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct sales trips to new and prospective customers and meet each at least once every 12 weeks.
- Generate qualified leads through market research
- Prepare general sales plans and strategies as directed by sales management
- Develop and make presentations to existing and potential customers
- Conduct product training & product inspections when necessary
- Maintain sales activity database utilizing ACT! software & prepare sales reports when necessary
- Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, email or in person
- Understand and remain current on building codes of the states in your territory
- Attend regional & national trade shows as well as customer events as defined by sales management
- Follow up on all quotes and sales activities
- Conduct video visits / sale presentations between sales trips
- Negotiate with clients
- Distributor salesperson ride-a-long’s when necessary.
- Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Ponderosa etc.)
- Knowledge and command of general business math and terminology
- Knowledge of general sales principles and practices
- 3 years minimum experience in millwork sales at the B2B level (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of various millwork distribution channels.
