The Meadows School educates approximately 935 students per year in grades preK-12. The 40-acre campus houses over 240,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities. Job Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or a related field
At least three years experience teaching lower school
Experience integrating technology into the curriculum
Valid teaching credential – Elementary School
Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred
Skills And Competencies
A sound knowledge of childhood development and pedagogy
Ability to teach creatively and engage a diverse group of learners
Familiarity with growth mindset, deeper learning and design thinking
Experience with project based learning, service learning and collaborative learning
Ability to teach creatively and engage a diverse group of learners
Proficient with Google/Gmail, SmartBoards or other interactive panels and related software
Strong communication, interpersonal, technology and presentation skills
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
Sense of humor and love of this age group
Supportive, nurturing, warm personality
Recent training in issues related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Experience in independent schools a plus
Duties And Responsibilities
Serve as a homeroom teacher and teach and assess core academic subjects- language arts, math, social studies, art, SEL
Differentiate the curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners, helping every child reach his/her potential
Integrate technology throughout the curriculum
Collaborate and work as a team with two other grade level team members
Communicate student progress with parents at parent teacher conferences, in student progress reports and report cards, and as needed
Collaborate with the student support team for students who need academic or emotional support
Produce a yearly student citizenship program/performance
Attend faculty meetings
Attractively display student work
Attend school professional development and seek out opportunities to remain current with pedagogy and best practices
Actively perform assigned supervisory duties before, during or after the school day
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
