**Description**

Stepstone Academy is seeking a Food Service Aide to assist at our school. The ideal candidate will be passionate about our students' learning and is driven by changing the way urban students are educated. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills. The Food Services Aide will ensure that the storage and serving areas are kept clean and organized and at all times meeting the regulations of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. The hours for the position are Monday through Friday 7:00AM-1:30PM. Some travel is required in order to attend state mandated trainings!

****Essential Functions:****

* **Responsible for ordering foods**

* **Responsible for handling, preparation and/or cooking of all food items and ensure that Ohio Uniform Food Code regulations and the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs regulations are met on a daily basis**

* **Ensure all meals are served in proper proportion sizes and temperatures with exceptional customer service**

* **Maintain all serving areas, storage areas and preparation areas in a clean an orderly fashion at all times.**

* **Meal accountability for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs; inventory; sanitation and maintenance**

* **Monitors, supervises, assists and encourages students to ensure that a pleasant eating experience is accomplished on a daily basis.**

* **Assists in program aide coverage, and other duties as assigned**

* **Maintains regular and reliable attendance.**

* **May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.**

* **In times of need, employee may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.**

****Performance/Physical Requirements****:****

* **Work is performed with Children of various ages. It involves extensive bending, stooping, lifting of children (Various sizes and weights), standing, walking, and cleaning of equipment, play and eating areas.**

* **English reading and writing skills required**

* **Attention to detail and confidentiality required**

* **Knowledge of kitchen food preparation hand tools, standard kitchen tools and kitchen equipment**

* **Knowledge of facility and equipment sanitation procedures**

* **Knowledge of food display and presentation**

* **Strong interpersonal skills**

* **Strong knowledge of computers**

****Qualifications:****

**Minimum qualification is a GED or High School Diploma. Experience working in food service preferred. Ohio Department of Education Aide permit is a plus. Ohio and FBI criminal background check required and must pass the minimum requirements per the State Department of Education.**

**Applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment screening process upon receipt of an offer of employment. We require and cover the cost of a fingerprint background screening, physical, Tuberculosis test, and drug screen after an employment offer is made. Any employment offer is contingent upon receipt of all satisfactory pre-employment screenings.**
