Hourly Range: $35 - $45/hr, commensurate with experience
Status: Full-Time, W2 contractor, 6 months to start, expected to be ongoing if mutually agreed upon
Our client is a manufacturer and distributor of a nasal care system that is a completely natural way to prevent snoring, relieve allergies, and drastically improve breathing indefinitely. Not only is it a cost-effective solution to a number of problems, but it completely avoids the necessity for drugs or surgery in many cases.
Summary Of PositionThe Senior Staff Accountant is a mid-level accounting professional responsible for managing the company's financial bookkeeping and leading accounting staff and play a critical role in month end financial close process You will also work closely with our various internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Operations /procurement, FP&A, etc. to ensure accounting coding accuracy and policy compliance. Accurate financial data and timeliness will provide confidence to our leadership teams to make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and audit balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
- Reconcile account balances, bank statements, and sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Compile and prepare monthly journal entries for our month-end financial close, including Cash, AP, Expense Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, and reconciliation of assigned GL accounts. Review monthly accounts receivable and corresponding reserves
- Manage expense accruals
- Assist and participate in the yearend financial as well as various audits, and assessing internal controls, including risk assessments
- Review financial data to make forecasting decisions and communicating financial strategies with executives
- Guide accounting staff in daily tasks and coordinating training and information sessions
- Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks and complying with government regulations
- Canadian Sales Tax / VAT tax filing
- Summarize financial status
- Assist with budget preparation
- Support and continuously bring in business process improvement

- System experience with NetSuite and major ERP system preferred, QuickBooks plus
- CPA, a plus but not required
- Experience executing month-end closing in 5?7 days
- 3 years’ experience with expense accrual
- 3 years’ experience with account reconciliation
- Experience managing a team
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholder across the business
- Strong business acumen
- College degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience
- Supervisor / Manager: VP, Finance
