Job Summary:
The MCT Group, a community mental health provider, is presently seeking QMHP-C and/or QMHP-T candidates for the position of Intensive In-Home Staff. This role involves delivering therapeutic interventions in the homes of youth who are at risk of out-of-home placement. A QMHP-C or QMHP-T registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling is mandatory for this role. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
The Intensive In-Home Staff delivers direct services, encompassing treatment plan implementation for children and families, utilizing appropriate therapeutic interventions. Operating independently, the In-Home Staff works in clients' homes and various community settings, employing innovative clinical interventions derived from best practices and acquired therapeutic techniques to engage effectively with children and families. Willingness to travel throughout Metro Richmond and Tri-Cities area is required to deliver intensive in-home services to clients.
- This position requires a person in the human services field who is trained and experienced in providing psychiatric or mental health services to children who have a mental illness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records and documentation
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as case managers and outpatient therapists, to provide comprehensive care
- Implement therapeutic interventions and strategies to promote positive behavior change
- Work with at-risk youth and families to address their specific mental/behavioral health needs
- Provide crisis intervention and support during times of acute distress
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling)
- Certification as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child or Trainee (QMHP-C/T)
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and families
- Strong knowledge of documentation practices and requirements
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and interventions
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm in crisis situations
-A criminal background check is required for this position, along with a search of the Virginia Department of Social Services/Child Protective Services Central Registry.
