The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a 3 MONTH position in the La Porte, Texas area:
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE PLANNER
5 X 10 OT as needed

The Preventative Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventative maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of equipment and systems. This role involves working closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to develop and implement effective preventative maintenance strategies that minimize downtime and enhance safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop detailed preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment and systems within the facility.
    • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure maintenance activities are scheduled during appropriate windows to minimize impact on production.
    • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage work orders, track maintenance activities, and monitor equipment performance.
  • Maintenance Program Development:
    • Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs based on equipment manufacturer recommendations, industry best practices, and historical maintenance data.
    • Develop and update maintenance procedures, checklists, and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality in maintenance activities.
    • Identify critical equipment and prioritize maintenance tasks to address potential failure points.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance and operations teams for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
    • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to analyze equipment performance data and identify areas for improvement.
    • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Inventory and Procurement Management:
    • Manage inventory levels of spare parts, materials, and tools required for preventative maintenance activities.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely procurement of necessary materials and services.
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and availability.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all preventative maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for maintenance tasks.
    • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all preventative maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and budget adherence.
    • Update and maintain technical documentation, such as equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and engineering drawings.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improving preventative maintenance processes and implement best practices to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects to optimize maintenance activities and reduce costs.
    • Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on preventative maintenance practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance planning within the petrochemical or related industrial environment.
    • Proficiency in using CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in the petrochemical industry.
    • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment:
  • Must be able to work in varying conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
