PUNTA GORDA, FL (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) An active and loving family in Punta Gorda, FL, is seeking an exceptional, self-managed, and intuitive FULL-TIME NANNY/HOUSEHOLD MANAGER to support their household and care for their 4-year-old son with autism. The ideal candidate will have strong consulting abilities in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and child development, helping set and achieve developmental goals, supporting data tracking, and creating effective home systems and processes.
They are looking for someone dependable, professional, caring & naturally nurturing. Someone who LOVES playing with kids and doing activities, is high energy and genuinely loves to be a nanny! This kiddo is on the move, so they require someone who is not only able to keep up with him but is sincerely interested in having fun with him!
Their son is autistic and non-verbal and uses an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device to communicate his needs. He is sweet, smart, very independent, and potty trained, but he can require special attention. Ideal candidates must have experience working with children with autism and sensory disorders. They value someone who understands the safety issues of autism and can always practice vigilance.
Key responsibilities include providing consultation and support for ABA goals, fostering social exposure, engaging in age-appropriate activities, guiding nighttime potty training, and helping tackle all aspects of ABA and autism. Daily childcare duties involve school pick-up, planning and engaging in after-school activities, preparing dinner, assisting with bedtime routines, and planning weekend activities. House management tasks include performing daily tasks, creating and maintaining home systems and processes, and assisting with trip planning, packing, and organizing.
They are seeking someone who has strong ABA consulting abilities and child development knowledge, is a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, is safety-focused, intuitive, and proactive, and has excellent communication and teamwork skills. A valid driver's license and the ability to drive a company vehicle are required. The household is fully staffed with a Household Manager, Chef, and Personal Assistant. The nanny must be a team player thriving in a fast-paced environment.
The role also requires providing support up to 30-35 days of family travel per year, including planning and packing for trips and occasionally traveling with the family.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Monday to Wednesday:
9 am - 4:00 pm: Perform house management tasks as planned by the employee.
4:00 pm: School pick-up
4:30 pm: Arrive at the park or planned after-school activity.
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Return home, and assist with bath time.
6:00 pm: Heat up and serve pre-prepared dinner.
6:30 pm: End of the workday, the family takes over for seated dinner together.
Thursday and Friday: Usually off.
Saturday:
11:00 am: Arrive at the house, finish lunch, get child dressed, and pack his backpack.
12:00 pm: Leave home to take child to his social group.
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Drop child off at his social group (approximately 30-minute drive from home). The nanny has free time nearby during this period.
4:00 pm: Pick up from the social group.
4:30 pm: Return home, assist with bath time, and serve dinner.
5:30 pm: End of workday.
Sunday:
9:00 am - 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm: Engage in parks, activities, pool time, or library trips. Activities are usually planned by the mom, but proactive planning by the nanny is encouraged.
2:00 pm or 3:00 pm: Meet with mom to plan for the following week before the end of the workday.
