Role Qualifications & Position Responsibilities
Attract and Recruit Diverse Candidates
  • Enhance TNM's recruitment and hiring processes to attract diverse talent at all levels.
  • Develop and implement a communications strategy and branding for recruitment to provide an engaging and accurate preview for potential candidates.
  • Establish systems to track and communicate with candidates.
  • Ensure effective onboarding of new TNM employees.
  • Continuously improve onboarding and training to make employees feel welcomed, informed about their benefits, and ready to excel.
Lead Culture-Building
  • Define and implement strategies for TNM's organizational culture to become an employer of choice.
  • Lead DEI and Racial Equity initiatives to ensure TNM is an equitable and inclusive workplace through training, coaching, and strategy.
Develop Talent and Drive Performance
  • Evolve TNM's talent development processes including core competencies, goal setting, performance metrics, feedback, coaching, and reviews.
  • Oversee HR operations: professional development, succession planning, employee relations, recruitment, retention, training, HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration.
Administer Benefits and Ensure Compliance
  • Ensure TNM complies with all labor and employment laws and stays current on legal changes.
  • Align personnel policies with agency values and legal standards, consistently applying them.
  • Train supervisors on personnel policies and legal requirements, including involuntary terminations.
  • Develop and monitor the annual HR budget; approve invoices promptly.
  • Review payroll bi-weekly with the Finance team.
  • Conduct regular supervisory meetings, complete performance appraisals timely, and review timecards semi-monthly.
  • Advise management and mediate conflicts as an internal consultant.
  • Improve the efficiency of the open enrollment process and employee benefits program.
  • Maintain personnel files with necessary documentation for legal compliance.
  • Optimize HR data systems, including HRIS and online applications.
  • Participate in relevant educational and professional organizations.
  • Ensure efficient processing of claims and appeals for worker's compensation, FMLA, and unemployment.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience in human resources management
  • Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience required.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll
  • Fluent in change management strategies and best practice; proven success in implementing change across an organization.
  • Experienced coaching employees and management through complex employee relations issues and making recommendations that are consistent with agency values, policies and procedures, and applicable Illinois and Federal labor statutes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resource best practices in recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, payroll, and policy development, preferably in a non-profit

Compensation: Starting at $94,000
Additional Information:

Regularly, the employee will talk or listen.
Benefits: Full-time staff are entitled to full benefits after 30 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.
Work Environment: The Night Ministry does offer flexible remote work on a case-by-case basis. Up to 1 to 2 days of remote work can be scheduled per with your direct supervisor. You would be expected to work general office hours between 9am to 5pm.
