Position Description
Dock Supervisor
We are a third party warehouse and logistics company located in Plattsburgh New York. We also have a printing and mailing division. We are looking for an individual to learn our business model and become an effective Dock Supervisor.
Summary:
The Dock Supervisor assists the Facility Manager in all aspects of the operation. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the accuracy and productivity of vehicle loading and unloading, processing of pallets, assisting with building and equipment maintenance, producing reports, and paperwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned accordingly:
· Has direct oversight of all inbound and outbound loads.
· Ensures all receiving, inspection, and put away processes are performed correctly and completed daily.
· Oversees all outbound loads, providing a final quality check, ensuring that shipments are made on schedule to meet the Customer’s needs.
· Shifts employee’s tasks as needed to handle spikes in the work load to remain current. Will perform some of the work as required from time to time.
· Provides ongoing coaching and training to all workers to ensure processes are performed correctly and on time.
· Provides feedback to Facility Manager as it relates to meeting performance measures
· Makes recommendations to Facility Manager related to best practices and continuous improvement.
· Promotes a clean, sanitary and safe working environment at all times. Ensures safety measures are adhered to at all times.
· Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory.
· As part of the management team, shares responsibility for building security, and safeguarding of assets.
· Learn and operate 3PL Warehouse Management Software for all fulfillment transactions; inventory management, BOL preparations, pick tickets, packing slips, etc
· Learn and operate customer’s Inventory Management System as applicable to our needs and uses
· Participates in daily meetings with facility manager to ensure work flow is completed timely and accurately
· Resolve all customer issues as they arise
· Participate in developing and improving efficiency standards for each account
· Work collaboratively with Facility Manager and CSRs to solve production, performance, quality and customer issues

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma, some College and/or equivalent work experience preferred but is not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, office, and plant personnel using verbal and written communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to perform basic calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to use a 10 key calculator when needed.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent).
