The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is Hiring a Finance Operations Specialist 3 Near Columbus, OH

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides a broad range fiscal activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology including forecasting and budgeting, procurement, monitoring and reconciling funds, analyzing data and reporting financial results. Responsible to prepare complex journal entries in coordination with various central accounting areas to post entries, this position reviews the monthly/FYE general ledger and compares with budget providing variance explanations. This position reviews staff payroll activities and initiates administrative changes for correct allocations in accordance with budget/function. Reviews faculty/physician payroll activities and initiates administrative cost allocation changes in accordance with CART, reviews compiled reports and internal controls. During the annual budget and forecasting period, this position will be key in the preparation of budget and provides special reports/analysis as required by leadership. This position will also be a back up as a initiator of human resources information for job data, additional pay, PPA’s and may serve as back up Timekeeper in Kronos. This position will analyze accounts, exercise control over the department Pcard and Amazon Business Account as Pcard manager and maintain fiscal records.

Design and implement fiscal best practices and internal controls in conjunction with finance/business operations manager; propose and implement policies, procedures and practices for financial management and reporting; ensures adherence to internal controls and compliance with established polices and procedures. The person in the role will need to be proficient and up to date with Ohio State University Policies and Procedures, reviewing transactions for compliance with these Policies and Procedures. Serves as a back-up and partners with the business operations – finance manager.

This role will work interdepartmentally and have ownership of the tracking of procurement of services, supplies, and equipment. In this role, a process of tracking purchases in coordination with the SSCBC, the James and JOC will be developed and implemented with key members of Senior Leadership. As a part of the procurement process, this role will track service contracts on multiple Radiation Oncology equipment, shepherd PO’s and work closely with our key vendors. Our department relies heavily on processing of procurement items and keeping a keen eye on this process. This position will also assist in annual asset audit for the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; 4 or more years of accounting or finance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; with significant experience gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data; excellent interpersonal, communication skills and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; demonstrated analytical skills that emphasize critical and inquisitive thinking with a high level of attention to detail; proficiency with excel and data base applications; including applying basic mathematical functions, experience creating and formatting pivot tables and vlookups; proficiency with most Microsoft office applications.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Workday; experience with OSU Policies and Procedures; willingness to learn multiple budget systems. Procurement experience and implementation of procurement tracking systems.
