Job TitleFinancial Operations Senior Analyst DepartmentArts and Sciences | College Administration Finance Functions as a Financial Operations Senior Analyst overseeing the financial and accounting operations of multiple units for the College of Arts and Sciences (ASC) including the following fiscal services: financial systems, reporting and internal controls, policies, and regulations. Approves financial activity according to the designated signature authority. Develops and maintains unit budget systems and budgetary policies. Supports the units in budget preparation, forecasting, identifying, and implementing strategic initiatives. Oversees the general ledger, the preparation of unit financial reports, and performs financial analysis as well complete financial reconciliation. Collaborates with unit leadership to create and analyze reports against performance to inform strategic planning and further initiatives. Works closely with department leadership including Chairs, Directors, Vice Chairs and Business Operations Managers. Maintains financial databases, data interfaces and budget models for units within ASC. Participates and pro-actively engages as part of the ASC Finance team, working closely to coordinate efforts on budgeting and university policies and procedures and provides central ASC finance support as needed including commitment list management. Responsible for assisting with student scholarships and advancement fund spending plans. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the physical assets of the units, which includes recording the disposal or sale of fixed assets and the coordination of physical inventories. Organizes internal audit responses. Responsible for the recording of revenue and accounts receivable including billing customers and processing payments, record keeping, responding to customer inquiries related to account status, and the aging and write-off of receivables. Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of relevant experience in financial management. A resume is required to be submitted to be considered for this position. Desired: Experience in a progressively responsible fiscal capacity, financial reconciliation, report generation and analysis experience required, preferably in an academic setting; experience with Microsoft Excel, including creating charts and pivot tables; proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong accounting and problem-solving skills required; knowledge of university policies and procedures. Experience with Workday, Tableau and Adaptive is desired; knowledge of academic unit operations including credit hour revenue is desired.
