****What we're looking for****
We're looking for a Sr. Kitchen Operations Manager responsible for setting up the ongoing day-to-day operation of our kitchen located in Chicago, representing CookUnity as the face and voice of the brand and a culture setter for new hires.
**The Role**
As part of the founding team in Chicago, you will be working closely with the Market Director and Sr. Operations Manager helping execute thousands of meals daily by providing product, efficiency, and overall vision. This is a fast paced, fun environment; you need to be both food, systems, and people obsessed.
Success for this role is to become a partner and ally to our chef community, making sure they have everything they need to execute an optimal menu strategy.
On a daily basis, you'll be responsible for recipe consistency & development, food safety, quality control, and packaging training. You will also be responsible for the successful packaging and execution of allergy meals, which requires close attention to detail.
This is a full-time hire.
**Responsibilities**
* Help hire, train and manage kitchen staff, organizing their scheduled work shifts
* Manage daily & weekly workflow, pace, and efficiency of the team. Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports
* Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand. Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory counts
* Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
* Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations. Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
* Collaborate with recipe testing and Chef's onboarding
**Qualifications**
* A minimum of 6 years experience in Food Manufacturing, High Volume Commercial Kitchen,
* In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
* Experience working with and sourcing local, sustainable & organic ingredients
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities
* Outstanding communication and organizational skills. Being able to speak conversational Spanish is strongly preferred.
* FoodServe License
* You should be able to travel at least 1 week to our HQ in NYC to receive initial training
