Job Title: Pool Attendant
Job Grade: Staff
Department: Aquatics
Position overview
Maintaining and enforce a safe, clean, and organized aquatic recreational area and environment for members and guests.
Essential Job Functions
· Prevents injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.
· Patrols and enforces facility rules and regulations and educating patrons about them.
· Maintain neat and clean pool area at all times.
· Performs chemical testing and logging test numbers.
· Performs maintenance or other tasks assigned by his or her supervisor.
· Recognizes pool water safety issues such as fecal matter situations.
· Communicates with front desk via portable radios and emergency call system
· Recognizes and responds quickly to all emergencies. Familiar with XYZ announcement
· Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or using an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an emergency.
· Informs pool attendants, facility, staff and management when more help or equipment is needed.
· Maintain all areas for safety and for neatness in appearance.
Non-essential Job Functions
· Attends in-service training sessions as required
· Maintains fitness levels (swimming skills, strength and endurance)
Requirements
· CPR/AED training
· Knowledge of first aid and all safety and lifesaving apparatus including the phone.
· Must be at least 15 years of age
· Swimming experience required
· Prior pool attendant/lifeguard experience preferred
· Organizational skills – ability to accurately maintain log books for safety inspections and liability purposes
