Part-Time Pipette Technician based in Athens, GA

The Pipette Solution is a fully ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited, licensed and insured, woman-owned small business. We have been providing pipette calibrations to the industry since 2006.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Pipette Solution is in need of a highly motivated and passionate individual to add to their team of service technicians based in Athens, GA. The candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, calibrations, and repairs to laboratory equipment to ensure precision for our customers. A typical workday will include sitting, long periods of standing, and walking. There will also be hands-on work with very small parts. The candidate will be responsible for some customer interaction when on-site to perform the service, but no sales or scheduling is required. This is a part-time position, however, scheduled days and hours will vary based on workload and customer needs. A typical work week is about 3 days and will be Monday – Friday. There is flexibility on scheduling based on class schedules, etc. The initial training period is approximately 4-6 weeks with an hourly training pay. The first 6 months will be contracted work, so the technician will receive a 1099. Opportunities for growth available. Hourly pay starts at $20/hour.

This position requires work in universities, hospitals and many other laboratory facilities that require the COVID vaccine, flu shot, TB test and possibly other vaccinations in order to enter. PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) such as wearing a lab coat, gloves and possibly eyewear and masks is also required depending on the job. All equipment, computer, and supplies will be provided.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Strong attention to detail

· Strong mechanical or technical background with the ability to take things apart and put them back together

· Proficient with data entry, GoogleDocs, and basic emailing

· Lives in Athens or in the surrounding area

· Reliable transportation to get to and from the job sites

· Ability to lift 25-30 lbs of equipment

· Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required

· Willingness to meet on-call obligations as needed

· Ability to communicate efficiently

· Positive attitude with the ability to work independently or in a team setting

· Enthusiasm for great customer service and a strong understanding that the customer comes first
