What you’ll be doing
· Monitoring the quality of food, following all food safety regulations, and assisting the Kitchen Manager in coordinating the entire kitchen
· Assisting in hiring and training kitchen staff
· Managing special dietary needs
· Operating kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
· Ensuring the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
· Maintaining positive relationships with front of house staff
· Working with Kitchen Manager in developing menu items
· Supervising kitchen staff when Kitchen Manager is not present
Qualifications
· GED or High School Diploma required
· Nationally accredited Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
· 1-3 years experience in casual fine dining preferred
· Food Safety Certification
· Proper knife skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
· Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
· 2 or more years experience in a kitchen lead position
· Experience with farm to table cooking is preferred
· Ability to bring culinary vision to life
· Passion for Hospitality
*This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 50lbs. Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform are also required.
