The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is Hiring a Senior Management Analyst Near Jersey, NJ

DescriptionThe Senior Management Analyst plays a key role in collaborating with stakeholders and developing user-centric products that solve technical business problems and drive performance improvement across all Port Authority fleet operations. Using tools such as relational databases, SQL, SAP, Microsoft’s Power Platform and more, this role ensures that the right people have access to the information they need, when they need it. Additionally, the Senior Management Analyst will work as part of a team to continuously improve the quality of source data critical to financial accounting, enterprise reporting, and asset management. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of soliciting and synthesizing customer feedback to improve information systems and reporting tools. Excellent communication skills, the ability to continuously develop creative solutions to unique data and operational problems, and a mindset of continuous improvement are required.
ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Reporting:
  • Provide customers with recurring/ad-hoc reports using Oracle SQL, Crystal Reports, SAP Business Objects, and Excel.
  • Continuously improve report products in response to client feedback.
  • Devise strategies to automate common information requests and curate on-demand resources.
  • Manage SQL code repository, versioning, and branches to ensure report quality/consistency.
Stakeholder Management
  • Update and expand master list of enterprise fleet stakeholders, roles, and data scopes.
  • Enforce data security by ensuring consistency between user roles and report contents.
  • Solicit, respond to, and integrate stakeholder feedback into reporting tools and CAD procedures.
Operating Procedures And KPIs
  • Collaborate with team members to document their standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure related documentation is kept current.
  • Support Supervising Management Analyst in modifying system design to meet team’s needs.
  • Develop KPIs and job aids to drive performance improvement.
Asset Management & Finance
  • Support data integration and ingestion from multiple sources (vendors, web forms, telematics, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.) into asset management system.
  • Develop tools to monitor and rectify data inconsistencies that impact fleet operations.
  • Develop tools to automate and refine routine data entry, data cleaning, and document digitization tasks.
  • Monitor expense/revenue variance, cost recapture, and labor resources. Recommend corrective action as needed.
  • Assist Principal Financial Analyst in eliciting annual budget priorities.
  • Assist Principal Financial Analyst with monthly account closing-related activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer/information science, finance, urban and/or transportation planning/analysis, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated record of using data, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement to enhance operations and solve business problems.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and relational database structures (Oracle preferred).
  • Proficiency with one or more SAP products (ERP, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, etc.)
  • Proficiency with one or more components of Microsoft’s Power Platform (Power BI, Apps, Automate).
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in management/business analytics, finance, information technology, or public policy/administration with an emphasis on financial management/quantitative methods.
  • Prior technical experience supporting enterprise asset management (EAM) or fleet operations is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of one or more data analysis programming languages (Python, R, C#, VBA, etc.) is desired.
