Responsibilities
- Design clean news, sports and features pages on deadline for print and e-editions
- Write engaging headlines and photo cutlines
- Demonstrate solid news judgment in story placement and photo selection
- Proofread copy and display type for content, style and quality
- Frequently communicate with remote teammates during shift to offer support and ensure deadlines are met
- Perform other duties as needed
- Exceptional print design skills and news judgment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent grammar and language skills
- Excellent communication skills working in a remote environment
- Experience working with Adobe InDesign and knowledge of AP style
- Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and BLOX CMS a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and/or journalism or comparable experience
