At The Remedy, our Patient Care Coordinator is the health professional who ensures that patients get the best care possible. They listen to patients to ensure needs are being addressed, educate patients, keep patient records up to date, and act as a liaison between the patient and healthcare personnel by keeping the lines of communication flowing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical and data entry tasks
- Answer patient calls, emails and questions, including finding insurance estimates
- Confidentially manage patient accounts
- Schedule patient visits and answer pre-visit questions, including about billing
- Ensure compliance with professional standards & regulatory requirements
- Provide patient consultations and recommended treatments
- Discuss cost of service, insurance coverage, and payment options with the patient
- Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible
- Schedule any necessary outpatient appointments
- Get prior authorizations for procedures
- Scan documents into patient charts
- Assist care team with setting goals for quality assurance and best practices
- Provide community resources and referrals for continuing care
- Assist in locating funding for special procedures or other patient needs
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Required: Medical assistant certification/licensure
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent job experience.
- Two years of patient care coordinator, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
