The RMR Group is Hiring a Senior Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting Near Newton, MA

Overview

The Senior Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting is responsible for the financial reporting of RMR. This position requires close coordination and collaboration with cross-functional groups that support RMR and its client companies, including corporate accounting, portfolio accounting, property accounting, energy & sustainability and investor relations, as well as with various senior leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Form 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks and proxy statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly earnings release and earnings presentation.
  • Manage the internal and external review process of all SEC filings with senior management, external auditors and legal counsel.
  • Monitor and evaluate the potential impact of new authoritative guidance from the FASB and SEC.
  • Ensure effectiveness of internal controls and adherence to US GAAP, SEC and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and prepare board and committee materials.
  • Lead the process for RMR’s annual sustainability report, working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, internal and external auditors and external consultants.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis for senior leaders and executives as needed.
  • Assist with research on technical accounting and reporting matters.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience.
  • Combination of public company SEC reporting experience and public accounting experience required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEC reporting requirements and US GAAP.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast -paced environment.
  • Experience with WDesk/Workiva or a similar SEC filing application is required.
  • Experience with ESG/sustainability reporting is a plus.
  • Experience with real estate, asset managers, and/or commercial lending is a plus.
