THE ROBINETTE COMPANY is Hiring a Compliance Program Manager Near Bristol, TN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Compliance Program Manager has the combined responsibility of developing, administering, and ensuring compliance with SQF and Quality systems as well as increasing levels of responsibility for Environmental Health and Safety programs for each of the four Robinette Company manufacturing sites. This position has a shared reporting structure to the General Manager and the Directors of Quality and Technology.

SQF-Specific responsibilities for this position include: ensuring all products are produced in a safe, quality-focused manner, performance of finished good quality inspections, ensuring compliance with - and periodic audits of - HACCP plans, performance of GMP and quality audits, Implementation maintenance and improvement of SQF (Safe Quality Food) program for each of the four Robinette Company manufacturing sites. Additional SQF-Specific responsibilities include and are demonstrated through: development and management of SQF procedures, training employees on SQF procedures, validation of SQF procedures, evaluation of food safety concerns in facility and implementation of hazard elimination programs

EHS-Specific responsibilities for this position include: ensuring all work practices are conducted in a procedurally correct manner for a variety of activities, including but not limited to: Industrial hygiene, workplace safety, ergonomics, emergency management, environmental protection, biological safety, record keeping and documentation systems, and occupational safety for each of the four Robinette Company manufacturing sites. Additional EHS-Specific responsibilities include and are demonstrated through; administration of periodic audits and walkthroughs, administration and execution of various training sessions, interactions and reporting with regulatory bodies, subject matter expertise level knowledge of many topics in environmental health and safety. The EHS Program Managers establish administrative procedures and policies for the promotion and encouragement of applicable best practices and state and federal requirements, with emphasis on reporting data collection for environmental permitting, and Occupational Safety and Health requirements and methods. This position provides leadership in the planning, organizing and management of work operations, objectives, and goal setting, administration of budgets, staff allocation, and resources, while assisting with the hiring and supervision of EHS professionals, technicians, and service providers to carry out specific parts of each program.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Must have HACCP (hazard analysis critical control point system) and SQF certifications and / or a minimum of two years relevant, practical experience in Health and Safety, Food Safety, Management of Quality, or Production in the flexible packaging or food industry preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental health, food science, engineering, industrial management, training methods, quality engineering, process improvement, or related fields / demonstrated work experience preferred

Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and safety training methods

Advanced knowledge of safety and continuous improvement principles, root cause analysis, and/or formal lean and/or Six Sigma training / certifications preferred

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, environments, and best practices – food packaging / process technology or environmental industry preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Suite – Word, Excel and Outlook)

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

High school diploma or GED required

Associate degree preferred

Must have the ability to identify and assess potential food safety hazards, health and safety hazards, environmental hazards and quality defects, while developing appropriate mitigation / elimination strategies and programs

Ability to effectively train essential plant employees in HACCP, SQF, OSHA, EHS, and related principles and programs

Ability to drive continuous improvement, as well as safety-centric manufacturing culture

Ability to affect change through indirect leadership

Ability to write SOPs and work instructions

Ability to effectively work with production team and other members of quality team to develop and maintain robust and effective food safety, quality, environmental health, and production safety programs

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Demonstrate, document, and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
