St. Bartholomew is seeking a part-time person, who will perform various routine maintenance and custodial activities to ensure that facilities are clean and well-maintained. Hours are 20 per week, approximately 5 hours per day; some evenings are required and weekends rotate every other week. For occasional special events, employee may be required work a split-shift. This position will work in collaboration with the Pastor, Parish Administrator, other staff members, ministry leaders, and volunteers to provide an efficient, safe and effective pastoral environment. Employee will be required to do event set-up and break-down.
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Must have current VIRTUS Certification and participate in LiveScan Fingerprinting. General education sufficient to understand written and oral instruction, directions, and safety rules for operating equipment. Must have the equivalent of two years building and facilities maintenance. Basic skills must include ability to perform small repairs related to electrical work, plumbing, painting, building and equipment maintenance. Must be able to climb tall ladders and lift or carry heavy objects. Knowledge of janitorial / cleaning procedures and use of related equipment. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License and automobile insurance.
