Foster Care Case Worker

Full time to provide case management services with families involved with the child welfare system. BS/BA required with focus on Social Work or closely related. MSW or related MA preferred. This full time social work related position works directly with the child welfare system.

Position Details

1. Provides social work services to families in the process of family reunification or other appropriate permanent placement, including any referrals for services as needed, documents all referrals and follow-up.
2. Advocate by attending/facilitating meetings with other service providers (court, school, hospital, social work providers, child welfare offices, and any others) as needed in order to expedite and coordinate services for the family and/or child.
3. Works cooperatively with therapists, social workers, Family Reunification, Licensing and Adoption staff, obtaining consultation and therapeutic services as required for achieving permanency and treatment goals.
4. Work with families within the child welfare system to develop treatment plans directed toward alleviating the conditions that led to the removal of the child(ren). Assist the family with safety plans and provide crisis intervention as needed.
5. Educate, teach and model skills in parenting, childcare, communication, household management and other needed areas in order to strengthen the overall family functioning.
6. Establish positive and empowering working relationships with assigned children and families within the child welfare system.
