The Salvation Army of Fox Cities helps support it’s community in many ways. We help feed our community as well as help those in need overcome poverty and addition. Not only that, we help provide for the youth within our community. The Children's Learning Center is a licensed day care in the state of Wisconsin for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age and is open year-round. We are open to all children, regardless of gender, race, religion, or national origin. Our furniture, equipment, and toys are age-appropriate and allow for full group, small group, and individual activities. Daily activities include Spiritual Time, Circle Time, Discovery, Play Time, Story Time, Are, Music, and rest period. Our programming gives emphasis to spiritual growth as a vital component of a child's development, adding values and blessings to their daily experiences. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Purpose: To provide nutritional snacks and lunches for children enrolled in the Salvation Army Child Learning Center. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan menus for snacks and lunches for enrolled children, according to CACFP requirements and guidelines, and within budget and time constraints
Estimate amount of food needed in relation to number of children and serving sizes
Acquire necessary food items and supplies
Maintain, in storage, preparation and service of food, proper sanitation and health standards in compliance with all applicable CACFP and State and local laws and regulations
Prepare lunches and snacks for children
Serve lunches to children, prep and set up snack carts
Maintain proper records and submit to Director
Daily expenditures of food
Monthly menus, in advance
Monthly food production records, utilizing CACFP forms
Maintain monthly participation records - snack and lunch counts
ServSafe or sanitation certification required within first four months of employment
Maintain kitchen in compliance with licensing regulations
Participate in ongoing training of staff through in-service training, staff meetings, orientation, and other so designated programs
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
Provide guidance for cook assistants
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Regular Staff Meetings and Direction by Center Director and Assistant Director
Education And Experience/Skills/RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have knowledge of proper and sanitary food handling, preparation, storage, and safe use of kitchen equipment
Must have knowledge of requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program administered by the DPI
High School diploma or equivalent
Is able to stand up to 8 hours
Ease of movement, including bending, stooping and lifting up to more than 25 pounds
Works with and must physically handle and control sharp instruments, electrical and mechanical devices, hot surfaces and hot liquids and solids
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of children in the event of emergency
Must be 18 years of age or older
