The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is Hiring a Grants Project Manager Near Omaha, NE

The starting salary for this position is $68,000 to $72,500 depending on experienceThe Salvation Army Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Summary/Primary Purpose: This position supports Divisional fundraising success by managing a process that empowers divisional service locations to take best advantage of private funding opportunities, navigate internal and external review and permissions on time, comply with award conditions, and report outcomes and results for as many as 500 grants each year according to donor requirements in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in grant management, exceptional project management skills, process improvement, change management, and a passion for making a difference.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end management of grant projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with Divisional officers and staff to build teams that develop compelling grant proposals, connecting them with resources as needed, and facilitate grant application submissions.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and funding agencies to ensure project success.
  • Implement and maintain effective grant tracking systems and organized records of all grant-related activities, ensuring timely internal and external reporting and compliance with grant regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on grant project outcomes, impact, and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.
  • This role will occasionally be directed to work and participate in work events, project coordination, and events and meetings that take place outside normal business hours.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years experience managing multi-phase projects, with a proven record of successfully managing complex projects. Will consider a combination of education and experience.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in using project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana). Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or grant management (e.g., GPC) is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and build collaborative relationships.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage projects for remote teams, generating and assigning tasks as information changes, and tracking team progress effectively.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization or similar environment is preferred.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to details and filing.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
