The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is Hiring a Youth Resources Aide/Administrative Assistant Near Cincinnati, OH

DEPARTMENT: Divisional Youth Department
REPORTS TO: Divisional Youth Secretary
SUPERVISES: Summer camp staff as assigned
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Regular Work hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. with scheduled breaks. Summer work location is Camp SWONEKY (May-August).
Duties Responsibilities
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a manner that brings glory to God.
  • Assist in every way requested to carry out the spiritual and total mission of The Southwest Ohio & Northeast Kentucky (SWONEKY) Division of The Salvation Army in terms of community needs and our ministry to the people of the region.
  • Strive to up-hold a solid Christian influence in all areas, serving as a positive role model to the young people of the division.
  • Must be passionate about the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Vision of the SWONEKY Division.
Youth Department
  • Receive and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Submit department’s payroll.
  • Maintain an office supply inventory and order accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain files.
  • Assist in communicating information via email, phone calls and letters as directed by DYS
  • Manage and process registration for Divisional, regional, and Territorial events
  • Distribute and process Divisional/Territorial educational loan applications and scholarships
  • Maintain the computer database for Sun Beams, Moon Beams, Girl Guards and Boys Adventure Corps troops
  • Assist Corps Officers with problem solving in relation to the computer database for troops
  • Be in contact with THQ in regards to issues and updates of all troops
  • Process badge requests from the Division and distribute physical badges to appropriate Corps
  • Request annual troop registration throughout the division.
  • Collect payment for annual troop registration
  • Communicate with DYS in regards to troops.
  • Process registration and billing for events such as Youth Councils, Kids Councils, etc.
  • Maintain contact with the SWONEKY youth leaders throughout the division.
  • Encourage the Bible Bowl program throughout the Division and head up team competition.
  • Oversee Young Adult ministries and help plan the various events.
  • Participate in Youth Commission
  • Make regular visits to Corps programs to offer support and guidance.
  • Support Corps Officers and Youth Leaders in the SWONEKY Division in outreach ministries.
  • Encourage Troop Programs such as Moonbeams, Sunbeams, Boys Adventure Corps, Girl Guards.
  • Assist department to plan, coordinate, participate and promote youth councils, youth retreats, rallies and other youth activates with the DYS.
  • Promote and advertise rentals at Camp SWONEKY
Camp Duties
  • Participate in the youth department summer camp hiring staff group.
  • Assist in processing seasonal summer camp staff contracts.
  • Complete all necessary registrations and represent Camp Swoneky in our partnership with Prison Fellowship Ministries.
  • Email camp applications and medical forms to the Corps Officers in the SWONEKY division.
  • Prepare and send camp schedules for Corps Officers and Camp staff.
  • Be available to Corps Officers for questions about applications or camp.
  • Annually update and prepare camp SWONEKY brochures
  • Assist in advertisement of Camp SWONEKY
  • Assist in cabin assignments for each camping session.
  • Supervise summer camp staff helpers assist with checking in campers’ paperwork.
  • Supervise summer camp staff as assigned by the Camp Director.
  • Assist in updating camper staff manual and orientation binders.
  • Oversee camper management at Camp SWONEKY
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years administrative experience. Proficient in all office and computer equipment
