Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Part-Time, Casual Front Desk Receptionist to join our Property Department team at the Western PA Divisional Headquarters The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth office operations while assisting with various Property Department functions as outlined below. This role requires strong organizational skills, computer literacy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
As a part-time, casual Front Desk Receptionist, this position will provide as needed coverage for full-time Salvation Army staff who are on vacation or utilizing another form of PTO. The position is perfect for someone who is looking to add a light level of employment, while not fully committing to full-time employment.
Essential Functions:
- Receive and greet all who enter the DHQ building by way of the Third Floor Main Entrance.
- Operates telephone and directs callers to appropriate departments, facilities and other available service providers.
- Receive all incoming special delivery mail and packages, recording receipt. Notify recipients of packages delivered to the front desk.
- Participate in building security and all hazard plan procedures:
- Maintain lobby entrance Welcome and Meeting location sign. Observe security monitor for any activity.
- Monitor and order copy paper for all DHQ departments.
- Receives mail and notifies appropriated department as needed upon arrival. Logs all packages received at front desk.
- Dress should be neat and appropriate and work conducted in a professional manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist other DHQ departments with clerical tasks as requested through the Property Director’s office and as time permits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good inter-personal skills. High level of compassion, tolerance and patience and low-key response to pressure and overbearing people
- Good communication skills (in person and over telephone).
- Must have ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Previous experience as receptionist or other position dealing with the public desired.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suites.
