DATA MODELER - CHARLOTTE, NC - HYBRID ON-SITE
The Select Group’s client is looking for an experienced Data Modeler, and your primary responsibility will be designing, developing, and maintaining data models to support various business needs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling principles, database design, and data management best practices. If the below sounds like you, APPLY NOW!
DATA MODELER REQUIREMENTS:
- 8 years experience in data modeling and database design and experience in Retail domain
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of SQL on Azure SQL server and Databricks.
- Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional modeling.
- AWS or Azure (preferred) or other Data modeling tools
- Retail data analysis experience
- Represent data models to share with the business stakeholders
- Link all domains in retail system and present them
- Experience with data at the enterprise level
- Able to take ownership of this and work across many teams
DATA MODELER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Design and develop data models using industry-standard modeling techniques and tools.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to understand data quality, structure, and relationships.
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Define and enforce data modeling standards, best practices, and guidelines.
- Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with data management policies and standards.
- Work closely with database administrators and developers to implement data models in relational and non-relational database systems.
- Conduct data model reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data modeling and data management
