The Shore and Country Club is Hiring a Junior Sailing Director Near Norwalk, CT
Job DescriptionThe Shore and Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and committed sailor who loves to sail and wants to share that love with new and returning sailors. The junior program has a fleet of Optimists, RS Fevas, and Club 420s. Our program is mid-sized with 40-60 students who will range from 8 to 17 years old. 2-3 years of experience is required, collegiate sailing experience is a plus. Job Tasks
Reviews current Junior Sailing curriculum and makes enhancements as necessary.
Works with General Manager and Program Chair to determine program schedules and curriculum.
Determines instructor assignments daily.
Communicates expectations to instructors and helps them develop effective instruction techniques and build enthusiasm by providing regular feedback where required.
Communicates and interacts with both parents and sailors.
Oversees start-up and close-down operations.
Completes all required administration including Program Registrations.
Provides weekly and year-end report of programs and instructors.
Performs in-season day-to-day operations:
Supervises instructors;
Instructs as necessary;
Oversees upkeep and maintenance of boats and equipment
Plans and coordinates regatta schedule (including JSA registration).
Participates in Club activities (social events and meetings where required).
Attends local sailing association committee meetings as required.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager.
