Outdoor power equipment sales and service company in Cedar Rapids is looking for an experienced bookkeeper 25-30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks (Desktop version) and have a strong understanding of accounting principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and reconcile bank and loan accounts
• Process Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
• Process and mail monthly customer statements
• Process bi-weekly payroll and monthly commissions in QuickBooks Desktop
• Calculate and pay federal and state income tax deposits and quarterly/annual payroll reporting
• Manage and balance office petty cash fund
• Daily balancing of cash register drawer
• Balance daily sales reports
• Manage monthly sales tax deposit
• Manage bank deposits and credit card sales deposits
• Complete annual insurance audits
• Manage and complete PCI compliance
• Collaborate with company’s tax accountant
• Order office supplies
• Inventory parts
• Assist customers at sales counter

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 - year accounting degree (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years bookkeeping experience and payroll calculating/tax & report filing
• Minimum 5 years QuickBooks (Desktop version) experience
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Working knowledge of corporate and individual taxes
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
