The Smilist is in search of a self-directed and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting team, providing financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 /yr Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in the development of and support the company's strategic plans
Monitor the financial performance of the company
Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets
Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures
Communicate financial metrics to senior management
Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments
Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills
Experience at a healthcare organization (MSO) required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
Minimum 10 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
CPA preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to work closely with a senior management team
