TITLE: Security Officer
REPORTS TO: Security Supervisor
SALARY: $21.01/ hour
HOURS: On-call
JOB SUMMARY:
The role of Security Officers through SPCC is to assist with maintaining safety for staff, clients, and all others who frequent the Pediatric and Visitation Center. The Pediatric and Visitation Center provides trauma-informed services to children and families impacted by trauma, maltreatment/neglect, foster case placement, intimate partner violence and high-conflict custody.
Security Officers are critical members of the SPCC visitation teams and as such is responsible for providing support as requested and needed to other Visitation and Pediatric team members and other professional partners working and visiting at the Pediatric and Visitation Center.
A unique aspect of this position is being able to embed trauma-informed practices into all security interactions. Security Officers must be able to work collaboratively with SPCC's partners and their security teams. They will be expected to represent SPCC with professionalism, integrity and in a way that aligns with the mission and vision of SPCC.
This position will engage with staff and clients in a manner that aligns with SPCC's commitment to Trauma Informed Care and Equity.

Physical Demands: This position may include walking considerable distances in and throughout the facility during the course of the workday. Carrying and Lifting objects up to 25 lbs. as needed.
Bending at the waist or by the legs and spine to pick up and transport objects. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses.
Physical Work Environment: This position will be based in office and within the community for visits with families and children who are supported by SPCC. Office workspace includes workstation, lighting, heating, cooling and office supplies. Environments for the home and community visits with families may vary.

Candidate will be required to successfully complete the Agency Confidentiality Agreement, required Background Check, and State Central Register Clearance. The Candidate must possess a valid NYS driver's license with a good driving record and carry agency required levels of automobile liability msurance.
