Salary:

SPARC Services and Programs is recruiting for enthusiastic Licensed/Associate Licensed Clinicians to provide School Based Mental Health Therapy in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS). School Based Mental Health Services are designed to provide accessible treatment to students in the schools and reduce risk of out of home placement.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Human Services or related fields from an accredited University,
  • Licensed or Associate Licensed mental health professional (LCSW/A, LCMHC/A, LMFT/A etc.)
  • Experience in working with Child, adolescents, and their families.
  • School Based Mental Health Experience (preferred but not required).

Provision of School Based Mental Health Services :

School Based Mental Health Clinician make sure all clients have a person-centered clinical assessment, and treatment plan that will guide treatment. Clients will receive individual, family, and group therapy options (as clinical determined) during the school day. School based mental health clinician will coordinate with assigned schools for scheduling sessions, room locations, classroom consultations or intervention.

School Based Mental Health Staff will:

  • Maintain a regular schedule at the assigned school and communicate any changes to that scheduled to their supervisor, school administrator and student services team.
  • Therapists will provide individual, family, and group therapy options to school, client and families.
  • Schedule Sessions with clients weekly, or as clinical determined based on their support needs. This can be adjusted throughout treatment to best meet the client’s needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based models throughout treatment including CBT and Motivational interviewing.
  • Provide mental health consultation and education for school staff.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure progress toward educational and behavioral health goals are being made. This will occur via direct and clear communication.
  • Schedule open times for consultation, and interventions outside of scheduled appointments. This can occur inside or outside the classroom.
  • Provide case management services for SDOH needs and any referrals for services needed (concurrently or higher levels of care).
  • Collaborate with a new service provider (if recommended), to ensure a smooth transition of care.
  • Maintain contact with the student and school when a student is placed in an alternative facility (i.e., juvenile detention, PRTF, etc.)
  • Continue services with client and family during school breaks.
