The Spine & Pain Center is Hiring a Medical Billing/Coding Specialist Near Tulsa, OK

The Spine and Pain Center has been providing exceptional HealthCare in the Tulsa Area since 2018.
We are a busy pain management clinic seeking a Full Time Medical Biller & Coder! Experience as a Biller & Coder in a Pain Management setting is preferred.

In this role you will support the office and our patients in an administrative capacity. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail oriented, energetic, takes well to constructive criticism, and works well independently and in a team setting.

- Review and update Clinic and ASC bank transactions, recording deposits for posting on spreadsheets.

- Conduct billing tasks such as printing claims, posting charges, and addressing messages in EHR related to held claims.

- Verify encounters in EHR for errors and manage both direct messages and those pending.

- Follow up on denials in ASC identified during EOB posting and reconcile payments from previous months, correcting rejections.

- Address patient accounts by checking balances, verifying insurance, and working on old claims without responses.

- Verify benefits and eligibility, processing payments.

- Assist in work comp by faxing medical records to adjusters.

- Manage collections, accounts receivable, facility charges for clinic and ASC, account reconciliation, motor vehicle liens, claim scrubbing, and insurance payments.

- Provide quotes for surgeries, stem cells, appointments, and procedures.

- Review and analyze medical records for accurate billing and coding.

- Demonstrate high knowledge of federal and commercial payors.

- Enter information accurately into the computer system.

- Ensure proper documentation of all claim-related information.

- Collect patient account deductibles and balances.

- Take appropriate actions, including calling payers, utilizing payer websites, or requesting corrected claims.

- Contact and follow up with insurance carriers on denials, file reconsideration requests, formal appeals, and negotiations.

- Assign relevant CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, HCPC, and DRG codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.

- Organize and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Estimate patient responsibility before visits.

- Work independently with patients and insurance companies in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent customer service.

- Resolve most patient concerns without escalation.

- Follow appropriate HIPAA guidelines and provide medical records to primary care providers, insurance carriers, referred providers, and patients upon request.

Requirements:
-Pain Management Experience
-Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficient in ICD-10 coding and medical terminology
- Familiarity with DRG coding and ICD-9 codes is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Must be proficient using the computer, data entry and have above-average erage

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
