Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work. The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.

The incumbent works in the Clinical Health Services Division within the scope of Agency protocols and State and Federal guidelines. This position is responsible for managing the Health Care for the Homeless program telehealth initiatives as well as overseeing outreach efforts of the Mobile Medical Unit and Street Medicine programs and staff that include physicians, nurses, and other paraprofessionals. As such, the incumbent is expected to perform functions requiring independent judgment. The incumbent will perform duties under the direction of the Public Health Services Manager C-SES.

  • Oversee the development and implementation plan of telehealth services within the Health Care for the Homeless program for Bayside Health Clinic, Mobile Medical Unit, Street Medicine program and outreach sites.
  • Act as liaison to Pinellas County, agency partners and the community, providing education and support regarding the appropriate applications and opportunities provided by telemedicine.
  • Coordinate with the technical support team to ensure that problems and system development needs for telemedicine are addressed.
  • Monitor program telehealth utilization and makes all required adjustments to maintain efficiency.
  • Monitor Street Medicine engagement efforts, nursing, and provider visits to ensure quality measurements and other performance metrics are met.

  • Evaluates program customer service, efficiency, effectiveness on the Street Medicine and Mobile Medical Unit.

  • Monitors flow of the Mobile Medical Unit and Street Medicine and makes all required adjustments to maintain efficiency.

  • Communicates with, recruits, hires, trains, motivates, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines

  • Evaluates staff performance through observation, review of records, team meetings, and individual conferences

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Computer skills and an ability to learn and understand the general technical requirements for the telemedicine system.
  • With training, ability to provide basic technical support and to triage more difficult problems to appropriate staff.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing word processing, data processing and graphic programs
  • Knowledge of methods of data collection
  • Ability to positively represent telemedicine to external organizations and participants.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated and self-directed
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective communication
  • Knowledge of the principle and practices of health education
  • Ability to design and produce health promotion and public health materials
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, previous experience with community organizations and the public
  • Ability to apply rules, regulations policies and procedures
  • Have a clean Florida driver’s license and have dependable transportation.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience working in a medical office setting
  • Three or more years of experience implementing agency and funder policies and establishing operational procedures.
  • Three or more years of experience coordinating the development and implementation of telemedicine services.

Preferred:

  • Three or more years of experience utilizing an electronic health record.
  • Three or more years of experience monitoring programmatic data and staff productivity
  • Experience working with the homeless population
