The State of New Hampshire, Department of Administrative Services, Division of Accounting Services has a full-time vacancy for a Financial Reporting Associate.
Summary: Coordinates statewide fiscal activities involving all state agencies and all funds through the review, analysis and reporting of financial data primarily focused on accounts receivable, revenue, accounts payable, expenses, and trust funds, operating within the Bureau of Financial Reporting of the Division of Accounting Services.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in accounting or business administration. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three years of experience in accounting or auditing work, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: None required.
Responsibilities:
Maintains current information on changes in state, federal, and GASB pronouncements and regulations relative to, but not limited to, revenue recognition, interagency transactions, trust and agency funds, and gives proper advice.
Prepares the monthly Revenue Focus, which reports revenue collections against plan, for the Governor’s Office, Legislature and other interested parties. Consults and analyzes data from agencies to further explain revenue trends and variances from the budget.
Monitors, notifies, and resolves statewide interagency transactions to ensure expenses and revenues reconcile, including corresponding due to and due from, and are properly reported at year end.
Assists with the monthly reconciliations of cash book, interagency cash, aging of receivables, and payables.
Fields questions and trains agencies’ fiscal staff on procedural and technical financial and accounting matters (primarily focused on accounts receivable, accounts payable and trust funds) to ensure compliance with GAAP and GASB pronouncements, accurate and timely fiscal year end closing and release of legislatively required financial reports.
Compiles and analyzes the State’s trust funds for accurate and timely year end reporting. Reconciles the trust funds reported in the ACFR with the Dedicated Funds report.
Completes the desktop publishing component of key reports currently performed using WDesk/Workiva software.
Tracks Audit Prep Guide and Year End Closing exhibits, schedules and working papers that are due from State Agencies to Division of Accounting Services for closing and audits.
Presents and communicates information concerning financial, operational and accounting analysis and assessments as needed. Assists the Comptroller’s Office with the development and analysis of other financial components of the State’s Annual ACFR and other statewide reporting and information as required.
Manages the archive process and file retentions of journal entries, audit documentation, reports, and other files as requested.
