Responsibilities:
The Staff Attorney will be responsible for:
- Providing legal assistance and consultation
- Developing legal strategies and setting case priorities
- Conducting intake and consultations
- Training and ongoing professional development of staff on crime victim services and the myriad legal needs of crime victims
- Carrying a caseload and outreach to underserved communities
- Coordinating schedules
- Managing grants to ensure that program goals and data reporting requirements are met
- Working with a variety of third-party stakeholders, including partner social service agencies
- Performing other duties, as needed
- Juris Doctorate
- Admission to the NYS Bar
- Experience working with survivors of trauma, immigrants and/or underserved communities
- Solid analytical, problem solving and research skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Bilingual
