A construction services company in California is looking to add an experienced professional to their team as their new Vice President of Safety & Fleet. In this role, the Vice President of Safety & Fleet will be responsible for leading and overseeing all safety and fleet management operations within the company. Responsibilities: The Vice President of Safety & Fleet will:
Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Lead a culture of safety awareness, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.
Oversee and optimize the management and maintenance of the company's fleet, including trucks, vehicles, and equipment
Implement cost-effective fleet management strategies, including maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and replacement schedules
Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members
Build and lead a high-performing Safety & Fleet Management team
Identify and assess potential safety and fleet-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
Develop and manage the safety and fleet budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
Provide regular reports to senior leadership on safety and fleet performance, KPIs, and recommendations for improvements
Lead and supervise a team of Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators across various locations
Ensure that Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators stay up to date with the latest safety regulations and industry trends
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
10 years of experience in Safety & Fleet Management
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role
Strong knowledge of Safety regulations and compliance, as well as Fleet Management best practices
Experience in managing budgets and driving cost-effective solutions
Solid analytical and problem solving skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
Master's Degree
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) designation
Experience working in the Construction and/or Distribution industry
