After-School STEAM Enrichment Program Overview:
At The Train Your Brain Project (TYBP), we are in pursuit of highly dedicated and experienced Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM ) Instructors to be a part of our team. Our STEAM instructors play a crucial role in implementing and expanding top-notch programs aimed at elementary-aged students with varying skill levels. Each lesson meticulously crafted to reinforce, complement, supplement, and strategically align with District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) elementary learning standards alongside the regular academic curriculum of our participating students.
Our goal is to provide an enriching experience that not only supports academic growth but also allows for recreational activities that foster well-rounded development in students. Lessons are thoughtfully designed to align seamlessly with DCPS learning standards while ensuring that students have a well-rounded and stimulating educational experience beyond traditional school hours.

Responsibilities:
Afterschool STEAM enrichment instructors are responsible for preparing a safe, engaging, and creative learning environment, supporting student learning with a growth mindset, establishing a positive rapport with members and co-workers, and preparing materials and supplies.
- Conduct small or whole group STEAM experiments with students
- Assess students' academic needs and develop personalized learning plans
- Provide instruction in various subjects, including math, science, technology, engineering, and arts. English and social studies are a plus!
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to address individual student needs
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge in one or more subject areas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student
- Patience and understanding when working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques
- Experience in sports coaching, daycare, classroom management, special education, childcare, or Christian counseling is a plus
- Ability to provide references from previous teaching and other education positions
