Job Title: Grounds Crew Member
Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents

Location: Union League Golf Club at Torresdale (3801 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114)
Description:
The Union League Golf Club at Torresdale's Golf Course Maintenance Department is seeking individuals who enjoy working outdoors in a landscape maintenance atmosphere. The Golf Course Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance of an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts and property landscaping. No experience in golf course maintenance is required. All job duties can be taught.
Responsibilities:
Applicants must be:

• Physically fit and able to move quickly from place to place
• Capable of walking 5-7 miles per day at a brisk walking pace
• Self-motivated and able to demonstrate a sense of urgency
• Capable of following detailed instructions
• Willing to work in varying climatic conditions including rainy, cold, and hot weather
• Punctual and have reliable transportation
• Able to complete a criminal background and drug screening

Skills and Requirements:

• Properly and safely operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, shovels, rakes, and other lawn care type of equipment
• Maintain and use equipment as if you owned it personally
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Communicate well and work well with other team members
• Complete job tasks in a timely manner with detail and quality

Hours:

• Workdays vary 5:00am - 5:00pm. Your desired schedule will be considered.
• Full Time Seasonal = 40 hours per week or Part Time Seasonal = 15 hours per week
• Seasonal employment March 13th - November 26th
• Work holidays as needed. Most holidays are paid 1.5 x hourly rate.
• 1 weekend morning - 4 hours (Saturday or Sunday) per week or every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday mornings)

Compensation:

• $16.00 per hour depending on experience
• Uniform shirts, hat and safety gear provided
• Clothing allowance of $200 for pants, shorts, and work boots
• Employee meals provided when clubhouse kitchen is open
