Assistant Professor of Finance Petra Sinagl is looking to hire a highly skilled and

motivated research assistant, preferably for a year. The position offers a great

opportunity to develop close connections with the Finance faculty and to gain valuable

experience in cutting-edge, applied asset pricing research.

Number of Positions:

• 1 research assistant

Qualifications:

• Current (or prospective) master student in data science, finance, or economics,

• advanced undergraduate student with data science, finance, or economics major.

• Must have solid knowledge in econometrics and Matlab, SAS or STATA

• programming.

• Must have independent problem-solving skills.

• Must have excellent critical thinking/communication/writing skills.

• Must be able to work for a minimum of 6 months (until December 31, 2024), but

• preferably until August 2025, ideally, for 5 hours per week.

• Remote work within Iowa.

Job Duties:

• The tasks include combining data sets, linking observations over data sets,

• running regressions and summarizing output tables and graphs, and literature

• review and research on institutional features (occasionally).

• Must participate in a bi-weekly research meeting to report progress.

Job Duration:

• Starting from September 2024, preferably (negotiable).

• The job can last until August 2025, conditional on satisfactory performance

Job Payment:

• $18/hour, paid biweekly.
