The University of Kansas is Hiring a Student Hourly Office Assistant Near Lawrence, KS
The student hourly will assist with department communication and staffing front desk.
Job DescriptionDuties will include answering phones, directing students and visitors to appropriate places, helping with the ordering of supplies, desk copies for faculty, photocopying, scanning, running errands on campus, sorting federal mail for the building, sorting campus mail for the department, working with administrative associates on course descriptions and social media, and other tasks as may be assigned by the administrative associates.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word as evidenced in application material
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students (Exceptions granted for GTA/GRA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
- Prefer an English major
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media management platforms
- Willingness to learn other office apps as necessary
