The department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Post Doctoral Associate to work at UHealth. The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
  • Perform neuropsychological testing of neurology and psychiatry patients and clinical research.
  • Participate in clinical research projects will be encouraged to develop an independent project and be involved in grant writing.
  • Participate in clinical research projects for dementia (AD, FTD) and mild cognitive impairment
  • Perform research in closed head injury, cerebral vascular disease, traumatic brain injury, dementia, Parkinson's disease, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, and stroke.
  • Compile, analyze, document and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results.
  • Trainees will participate in neuropsychology rounds, case conferences and neurology and psychiatry grand rounds
  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Psychology or related field required.
  • No prior experience required.Training in Neuropsychological Assessment and an interest in Cognitive Neuroscience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Bi-lingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
