Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
To provide students and their families with the resources necessary for financing the pursuit of higher education. Funding options administered by the FAO include need-based, non-need based, grant, scholarship, loan, work-study, federal, state, institutional, and outside monies. In addition, the primary purposes of the FAO are:
  • To develop policy and implement procedures that ensure regulatory compliance for the $200,000,000 in financial aid assistance administered yearly by the University.
  • To assist in realizing the mission and ideals of the University.
  • To offer effective and timely communication of financial aid eligibility criteria and receipt guidelines for the entire university.
  • To work to provide a qualify environment and enriching experience to all members of the university community.
  • To work collaboratively with other university offices to achieve success of university goals in recruitment, retention, and graduation rates.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director for Operations, this position helps with the streamlining of processes and the automation that constantly comes for the Financial Aid Office. UNCG continues to promote technologic options for the future to leverage. Implementation of the Banner software, implementation of our interactive software, an imaging system, a chatbot, communication options and other items make it necessary to have staff who have technical expertise. The position will work closely with Undergraduate Admissions, The Registrar’s Office, the Graduate School, and other student services areas to coordinate data reporting, analysis, and Banner functionality.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1- 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Banner Student experience desired.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year in the technology or information systems field, including system analysis, business process design, development and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.
  • Experience with SQL.
