Qualifications. We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated certified athletic trainer (licensed or license-eligible in PA) to serve as the Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator and Assistant/Associate Professor of Instruction within the Athletic Training Programs and potentially other related courses given the successful candidate's area of expertise. The preferred candidate should hold a doctoral degree in Athletic Training or a related field and demonstrate a strong history of athletic training clinical experience and teaching graduate courses. Valuable qualifications include experience teaching undergraduate courses in related fields such as anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology or health-related professions.

The Program. Temple University has been a proud educator of athletic training students at the professional and post-professional levels for almost 40 years. Currently, the Athletic Training Program offers both a Master of Science in Athletic Training and a fully online Doctor of Athletic Training degree. The program faculty are committed to offering modern curricula that is evidence-based, inclusive, and public health-forward. Didactic education takes place in the state-of-the-art Athletic Training laboratory classroom, with class capture capabilities and active learning spaces. Clinical education occurs at over 50 sites with more than 70 dedicated preceptors.

The Department. The Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) is unlike any other similar department in the country. Located on a single urban campus in Philadelphia, the department's faculty provide instruction in 13 degree programs including clinical doctorates in athletic training (post- professional), occupational therapy (entry-level and post-professional), and physical therapy; a doctor of philosophy in neuromotor science; master of science degrees in athletic training, recreational therapy, and neuromotor science; and undergraduate degrees in health professions, health studies, recreational therapy, kinesiology, and exercise and sport science.

The College. Devoted to an interprofessional environment for education, research, and practice, the CEPH-accredited College of Public Health consists of academic units in the public health disciplines, health professions, and the School of Social Work, enrolling approximately 4,200 students. An Office of Clinical Affairs and Interprofessional Education leads our clinical activities, including forward-looking IPE within the College and throughout the university. The College is staffed by a robust complement of seasoned professionals including offices of Communications and Marketing, Information Technology, Sponsored Research, and Academic Affairs. Temple's Center for the Advancement of Teaching provides outstanding programs and one-on-one mentoring to instructors to promote and support excellent teaching. Starting in the fall of 2025, the College of Public Health will be housed in a central location, with a simulation center unlike any other in the country. There will be interdisciplinary simulation space that will allow students to follow patients through a continuum of care and will feature both hospital-based and community-based spaces for interactive learning.
