The University of Pittsburgh Department of Behavioral and Community Health is seeking a Research Program Coordinator for Dr. Kar-Hai Chu. In this PA-DOH project, Dr. Chu’s research focuses on the prevention of STI spread by leveraging the DOH Partner Notification Service (PNS) and relationships with community organizations. The project will require conducting interviews with individuals as well as focus groups, conducting analyses with statistical software tools, research using health-science databases (e.g., PubMed). Experience with interviewing and interacting with individuals, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and computer skills are a must. Minimum education required is a Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Sciences field with 2 years of relevant work experience.

Essential Functions Carry out PA-DOH STI prevention study activities. Work will involve a variety of participant interaction including 1-on-1 interviews and multi-person focus groups. Incumbent will also direct and supervise student assistants that support these activities. The candidate will conduct data management, organization, and analyses. The incumbent will maintain data from interviews and focus groups, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of transcript data, and help support dissemination and manuscript preparation.
Physical Effort Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
