The University of Texas at Arlington is Hiring an Assistant Dean Near Arlington, TX

Job SummaryOversees supervision of the Office of Community Standards, and the Behavior Intervention/ CARE Team. Functions as co-chair of the Behavior Intervention Team. Manages policy development and compliance. Participates in crisis response and support. Support Divisional efforts towards the achievement of University Strategic Plan.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field with five (5) years of professional experience in the Student Affairs field and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing student conduct, privacy, and civil rights (e.g. Title IX, FERPA )
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders and facilitate difficult conversations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to lead teams, manage crises, and made sound decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
  • Sever (7) years of professional experience in the Student Affairs field or the equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading conduct and behavioral intervention teams.
  • Certification or training in behavioral threat assessment, crisis intervention, Title IX/Conduct hearings, or related areas.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Office of Community Standards.
  • Supervise the Behavior Intervention/Care Team.
  • Co-chair of the Behavior Intervention Team.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and other university stakeholders on University policies/procedures, protocols, behavioral/crisis management, etc.
  • Responsible for compliance with various mandates, laws and policies at the federal, state, and University levels. Includes collaboration on reports, editing of the UTA Handbook of Operating Procedures, and updating the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Responsible for management of the unit budget and shares responsibility for implementation of assessment plans.
  • Assist students with various identified needs to support student success and retention.
  • Provide proactive educational programs and outreach on related topics to crisis management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
